Proof: The Father is not Christ

There are preachers who are teaching their followers that Christ is the Father by simply using the verse John 10:30.

However, in our previous post (In John 10:30, Does It Mean that Christ and His Father are One God?), it was revealed that when Christ said, "I and My Father are one," He didn't mean that He is the Father. And we have here more verses that support the truth that  Christ is not really the Father.

1. In John 17:1-3, Christ was praying to the Father. 
2. And while praying to the Father (John 17:1-3), Christ lifted up His eyes to heaven. It is because the Father is actually in Heaven (Matthew 6:9).
3. The Father is the one living in Christ (John 14:10) and is the one whom according to Christ has forsaken Him (Matthew 27:46).
4. The Father is greater than Christ (John 14:28) and is the only one who knew when will be the return of Christ (Matthew 24:36).
5. And it was the Father who raised Christ from the dead (Acts 4:10).

In John 10:30, Does It Mean that Christ and His Father are One God?

Question: In John 10:30, Does It Mean that Christ and His Father are One God?

John 10:30 says: "I and the Father are one."

Answer 

By simply looking at the statement, you can actually asked several questions to verify what did Christ really mean when He said, "I and the Father are one."

1. Is Christ and the Father one God? The Bible clearly tell us that there is only one true God and this one true God is the Father. The Bible doesn't say that the only true God is the Father and Christ.
2. Is Christ the Father? The answer is No. Christ is not the Father. Check this post >>, "Is Christ the Father?"

What does it really mean when Christ said,"I and the Father are one"?

To answer the question, you just read back from verse 26 to 30.  Christ was talking here about His sheep. In verse 28, Christ said that "And I give them life everlasting; and they shall not perish for ever, and no man shall pluck them out of my hand." And then in verse 29 Christ said, "That which my Father hath given me, is greater than all: and no one can snatch them out of the hand of my Father."

In other words, Christ said that He is taking care of His sheep and no one can pluck them out from Him. These sheep are given by His Father to Him. The Father is greater than all. So, no one can snatch them from the hands of the Father.

Christ clearly differentiate Him from the Father by saying that the sheep were given to Him by the Father. The Father is the "GIVER" and Christ is the "RECEIVER." Christ even said that the Father is greater than all, which means the Father is even greater than Him. So, it is really clear that Christ and the Father are not same.

But what did Christ really mean when He said, that He and the Father are one? Christ was not saying that He and the Father are one GOD. He did not even say that He and the Father in a way that Christ is the Father. What Christ really mean is that He and the Father are one in action or they are united in taking care of the sheep.

Remember Christ said that no one can pluck the sheep out of Christ's sheep. Christ is taking care of the sheep. But He is not alone, because the Father who gave the sheep to Christ is taking care of them too. That's why Christ said that no one can snatch the sheep out of the Father's hands. So, in conclusion, Christ said, "I and the Father are one." In some other translation (GL Translation), the verse has been rendered, "I and the Father are one in accord."

Is Christ God According To Apostle Peter?

Question: Is Christ God according to Apostle Peter?

There are preachers today who preach that Christ is God. So, in order to verify such teaching, we will ask Apostle Peter through the Bible, whether their teaching that Christ is God is true. So, the question is "Is Christ God according to Apostle Peter?"

Answer: Christ is a man. (ACTS 2:22, Douay-Rehims)

Ye men of Israel, hear these words: Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved of God among you, by miracles, and wonders, and signs, which God did by him, in the midst of you, as you also know:

In the book of the Acts of the Apostles (Chapter 2, Verse 22), Apostle said that Jesus of Nazareth is a man. He did not say, Christ is a God-Man or Man-God, rather, he said Christ is a man.

What kind of a man is Christ? Apostle Peter added, "a man approved of God."

How did God show His approval of Christ? Apostle Peter said clarified, "a man approved of God... by miracles, and wonders, and signs."

These miracles, wonders and signs, are these the work of Christ by Himself? Apostle Peter explained, "...by miracles, wonders, and signs, which God did by Him."

In other words, Christ is a man. If He had done any wonders, miracles and signs, these are not His own work, but the work of God. God did these things using Christ as instrument.

Is Christ a Man? What Did Christ Say About Himself?

Christ Himself said that He is a man. When He said "He is a man," it is the truth, and this truth is attested to not only by Christ Himself but by God too, because according to Christ what he said is what Heard from God.

But what about those who said that Christ is a true God and true man? Well, from this verse, it is already clear that Christ introduced Himself as a  man "have spoken the truth which he heard of God." He did not say that He is a man and that what he had spoken is the one he heard of Himself.

Answer: From the words of Jesus Christ Himself, it is clear that the God is the Father.

Christ didn't say, "that they may know US, the only true God." He didn't even say, "that they may know ME, the only true God."

Is Christ the Father?

Answer: Christ's answer is clear that the Father is the one He prayed at.
